From Bernice Davidson:

While in graduate school I noticed that people involved in the arts sometimes get to hold the mircophone and address the public. I decided then that it was important to create art that was both responsible and uplifting. I created a simple mission statement that has served my work as a muralist for many years.

"To make art that brings communities together and surmounts racial, age, and economic barriers."

The quest for meaningful public art has led to the study of the rich history of Giles County. The Heroes Project seeks to create an outdoor museum on the Streeets of Pulaski, creating portraits of people from the past who have demonstrated sterling character traits, and helped to build out town.
